No! Giving students stacks of worksheets each day would be one of the least efficient, effective ways to teach and in direct opposition to the purposes of the club.

Many of the printables are forms and templates designed for YOU to use (not your students) to help with data management, lesson planning, grading, etc.

The printables designed for students are things like classroom job resources, growth mindset activities, and activities to help you build a strong classroom culture. A variety of materials are provided so you can choose what works best for your students, and many are editable so you can easily adapt them.

Think about the confusion and disruption that occurs when a new student enters your class mid-year. It’s always better when a group of students begin at the same time and stick together until the year is over, and the same is true for the club!

A limited enrollment period creates a sense of community and allows members to join in cohorts so no one has to wander in alone and feel lost. When you join, you’ll have the support of other teachers who are progressing through each focus area in the same order as you, at the same time as you, so that you can share ideas and support one another.

Nope, there’s nothing impractical here. I don’t claim to have any miraculous solutions. I can’t eliminate lesson planning or make a stack of ungraded papers disappear. The 40HTW is about making a series of small changes to your life that add up to big results.

In one of the weekly PDFs you’ll receive, I’ll help you figure out ways to streamline a single daily routine and shave 15 minutes off your work day. The next week, I’ll suggest another set of practices that help you get a dreaded task done 5 minute quicker. The week after that, I’ll share some strategies for rethinking your approach to the next task, and you’ll be leaving school another 10 minutes earlier than you thought.

Since you’ll be focusing on just one area of time management per month, and one aspect of that area per week, you’ll be implementing just a few small, manageable changes at any given time.
